The long-held tradition of the Melbourne Composers’ League’s Elbow Room concerts continues with a recital in the superb surroundings of the Montsalvat Barn Gallery in Eltham on Sunday 12th April at 2.30. The Elbow Room concerts provide a valuable opportunity for composers to present their newest works and are known for their broad array of experimental as well as more traditional music by local composers, including acoustic and electronic works. For audiences, the diverse mix offers something for everyone to enjoy or be surprised. Composers include Howard Dillon, Colin McKellar, Dindy Vaughan, Johanna Selleck, Livia Judge, Jacqui Rutten, and Paul Moulatlet.

The long-held tradition of the Melbourne Composers’ League Elbow Room concerts continues with the latest installment at the Wesley Anne on Saturday 22nd November at 3.00 pm. The Elbow Room concerts have become a much-loved and appreciated part of the Melbourne music scene, providing a valuable opportunity for composers to present their newest works in public or re-visit older works in the friendly and conducive atmosphere of the Wesley Anne. The Elbow Room concerts are known for their broad array of both traditional and experimental music by local composers, including acoustic and electronic works. For audiences, the diverse mix offers something for everyone to enjoy or be surprised. Featured composers on 22nd November include Paul Moulatlet, Jacqui Rutten, Colin McKellar, Ros Bandt, Brigid Burke, George Dreyfus, Johanna Selleck, David Henderson, and Andrian Pertout with a selection of works including pieces for bass clarinet and electronics, alto and bass flutes, woodwind quintet, solo tarhu, and a trio of flute, clarinet and double bass.
