Bayly, Thomas Haynes 10/13/1797 - 04/22/1839

Thomas Haynes Bayly was an English poet, writer and composer of songs.
The son of a lawyer, he initially wanted to enter the law as well. Later he tried to obtain a position in the clergy and in the end supported himself by writing for theaters and newspapers. He was better known for the songs that he wrote, the lyrics and melodies of which he composed himself.
