Dionisio Aguado Garcia (1784-1849), Spanish guitarist and composer, received his musical training from Pater Basilio (Miguel Garcia). In 1826 he went to Paris, where he met Fernando Sor, important guitar virtuoso and composer. While Sor, as was then customary, played with his fingertips, Aguado was the first significant guitarist to choose to play with his fingernails. He also used a "tripedisono", a stand which holds the guitar, making for a more relaxed position.
He composed exclusively for the guitar. Along with other works, he wrote etudes and a guitar method, "Metodo para guitarra."
