Berndt Leopolder (1961- ) was born in Hallein, Austria and lives in Golling a.S., Austria. He studied guitar pedagogy at the "Mozarteum" conservatory in Salzburg, and participated in numerous national and international jazz and classical guitar workshops.
Since 1984 he has taught guitar, electric guitar and electric bass at music schools in the Salzburg region. He also directs the guitar orchestra "Vielsaitig" and diverse jazz, rock and pop ensembles which tour once a year. He is also a member of Leger and Leger II, groups which have undertaken to present their own and other compositions in new musical clothing. He also plays bass in the Henry Chou Drumline percussion ensemble.
Inspiration to compose comes mainly from nature.
He is a composer and interpreter of different musical styles (classical, folk, Latin, fusion, jazz etc.) and the author of various guitar albums. He enjoys arranging folksongs and children's songs (especially since the birth of his daughter Sophia).
