Giulio Caccini : Ave Maria
The song is based on a melody of Caccini (which is why this composition is sometimes mistakenly attributed solely to this composer). This song is now popular in the form of a romanticized parody which according to some sources was composed in its basic features by the Russian guitarist and composer Vladimir Vavilov (1925-1973).
The text (probably not by Caccini) consists only of repetitions of the salutation "Ave Maria, ave" and a final "Amen".
