Andreas Köhler (1963- ) was born in Ludwigshafen, Germany. As a child he enjoyed singing; at school he also learned music theory.
Im 1975 he started learning guitar. In 1976 he learned the trade of carpenter. In 1979 he learned to play electric bass and played in the sacred/pop music band Vobiscum for five years.
Since church choirs have fewer and fewer members and less and less money available, so that larger works can be performed less and less often, it is important to him to create relatively simple works with minimal instrumental accompaniment. With Kyrie Opus AKWV-01 his first composition was created that is very simple for choirs to sing. The orchestration does not require a large financial outlay.
