Carl Otto Ehrenfried Nicolai (* June 9, 1810 in Königsberg; † May 11, 1849 in Berlin) was a german composer. He is mainly known for his opera 'the Merry Wifes of Winsor', he also founded the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
