Peter Moldovany was born in 1965. As a child he studied piano and wrote his first compositions at the age of 9. From a young age he was fond of accompanying singers and instrumentalists and playing chamber music.
After two years of musical studies at the Cologne Conservatory he decided to earn a living as a physical therapist. In his free time he works with musicians and choirs. From 1994-1996 he studied music from 1200-1600 in the group MusiCantores; CD "Sounds of Renaissance."
Since 1998 he has been a member of World Mosaic of Sound (www.worldmosaic.org), an international association of musicians of all styles and directions, which encourages mutual exchange, inspiration and common projects.
In 2000 he won a prize for "Bedenke Bach" (Wind quartet) at the 12th Siegburger composition competition: world premiere performance. In 2001-03 he toured England, Israel, Holland, Denmark and the USA with Trio Phoenix; premieres of his own chamber music works. 2003: multimedia performance of the amateur choir "Silberblau" (which he has co-directed since 1999) with some compositions composed specifically for the group; CD "simply human."
2004: Recordings for the CD "Soul Animations" with his own piano compositions. He also directed the choral project "Europa" with the world premiere of "Eine Europäische Sinfonie" by Volkmar Studtrucker. 2005: Choral project "Lebensgefühle 2005" ("Life feelings 2005") with the Akord Choir from Mielec, Poland; Polish premiere of "Eine Europäische Sinfonie."
2006: planned recording of his own choral and chamber music.
