Daniel Friderici (1584-1638) was a German cantor, Kapellmeister and composer.
He was trained by Valentin Haussmann and Friedrich Weissensee. During his studies in Rostock he was appointed cantor, first in Oldenburg and then, in 1618, at the Marienkirche (Church of Mary) in Rostock. After he had completed his studies, he was appointed Kapellmeister of all the churches in Rostock, a position he held until his death.
He composed a considerable amount of secular and sacred polyphonic vocal music of high quality. His music attained widespread popularity during his lifetime and beyond.
