John Francis Wade (born 1711 in England or Douai, France; died August 16th, 1786 in Douai) was an English composer. He is known mainly for the composition of the song Adeste Fideles.
A Catholic layman, Wade fled the Jacobean rebellion in 1745, settling in Douay, France. He taught music and copied plain chant and hymn manuscripts for private use.
