Erland M. Freudenthaler lives Haibach im Mühlkreis, Austria.
He studied in Linz and at the University of Michigan in the USA; his most important teachers were Gunter Waldek und William Albright.
Professor of composition and music theory at the Anton-Bruckner-Privatuniversität in Linz. From 2001 to 2010 he was also the director of the institute.
His work ranges across all genres with a focus on chamber music, choral works and works for vocal ensembles, and compositions for symphonic wind orchestras.
Founding member of the vocal sextet "StandArt", leader of the "A-Cappella-Chor Wels" ensemble.
