Sohren, Peter 1630 - 1692

Peter Söhren was a German church musician. In 1654 he became the cantor of the Dreikönigskirche church in Elbing. In 1665 he became the cantor of the Heiligleichnamkirche church and later taught at a high school in Elbing. He worked in Dirschau for a time as well.
In 1668 he wrote the melody of the hymn “Du Lebensbrot, Herr Jesu Christ”, which is today known as “Bis hierher hat mich Gott gebracht”.
