As a child I was not permitted to learn how to play an instrument as my father expected that I learn ''something sensible“. In any case, I always had the feeling that something was missing in my life. If I hadn't at least been able to listen to classical music passively, I wouldn't have survived. At the onset of my medical studies (Urology) I bought myself a soprano flute plus school. Unfortunately, as a result of my demanding work day, I was only able to teach myself two or three Christmas songs. After a fateful day that drastically impacted my health and which I barely survived eventually led me to becoming an active musician. Since the autumn of 2012, I have been a student of Ms. Almut Freitag who is among the best of recorder players.
The lessons often don't fashion themselves in the manner which we would desire and are a substitute for a physio/occupational therapy, but intially I never thought I would come this far. Especially, I never imagined that I would once compose small musical pieces being that I did not have a formal musical background. For all intents and purposes, I wanted to help my choirmaster and organist in early 2013 prepare for the the annual Mothers' Day concert. In the process a musical version for the ''Mondlied“ (Moon Song) taken from the story of the ''Windkanal'' was created. Further musical pieces followed at first being handwritten.
I have been able to survive the most difficult of times with the help of music. In music I find support and fullfillment. My greatest joy would be if I could touch the souls of other people with my music, bringing comfort and joy!
At this point, I wish to thank my ''musical“ teachers Beate Friedrich, Almut Freitg and Hans-Jürgen Freitag from the bottom of my heart!
