I started my musical education in 1969 with piano lessons. In 1973 I changed instruments and took first organ lessons with John F. Woolfolk. From 1974 on Prof. Dr. Michael Schneider in Cologne became my organ teacher.
After school I started to study school music at the Hochschule für Musik in Köln, the organ being my principal instrument, but I decided in favor of a different profession after a few terms. Nevertheless, I had the opportunity to continue my organ lessons with Michael Schneider until 1986.
Starting to work and becoming a family father, my musical activites faded into the backgroud more and more. For several years the pianist Michael Graubner in Cologne became my teacher and made me discover the "wonders" of the piano. In 2011 my old love to the organ came aflame again, thanks to a Hauptwerk organ in the basement of our house.
I have never taken lessons in composition. For my Sunday services I have written a few little chorale preludes over the years, which are accessible here — perhaps somebody likes them.
