Soojin Cho( Soojin Kristine Han) was born in Seoul, Korea, and started playing the piano at the age of five. She started her career by composing children’s songs and gospel music in her teens; her songs won prizes in competitions such as the Korean Youth Gospel Song Contest in New York City and KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) Children’s Song Competition for Families. She received a bachelor’s degree in music composition from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, while she obtained her master’s and doctoral degrees in music composition from Florida State University (USA) where she received a full scholarship and a nomination for the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
Soojin currently lives in Maryland, USA, is a mother of three children who loves sports and music, writes music in her spare time, occasionally works as a part-time accompanist, and serves as a choir director at a Korean church.
