Bibl, Rudolf 01/06/1832 - 08/02/1902

Rudolf Bibl is the son of Andreas Bibl (1797−1878), father of Viktor Bibl and grandfather of the conductor Rudolf Bibl member of a family dynasty continuing still to this day. His training took place via his father and later via Simon Sechter. Rudolf Bibl started in 1850 as an organist in the Viennese St Peter's Church. In 1859 he succeeded his father at the Viennese Stephan cathedral. In 1863 he became designated after Sechter's stepping down and in 1875 the successor as organist and court conductor at Hofburg. In 1900 he retired.


In Liesing of Vienna, Austria "Biblgasse" was named after him in 1959.
