Anton Reidinger was born on 04/29/1839 in Krenglbach.
He learned to play the violin at the age of 4,and at 10 he was trained by Anton Bruckner as a choirboy in the St. Florian monastery.
He took his school-leaving (A-level) examination in Kremsmünster in 1859.
In 1863 he was ordained a priest.
He died on 12/25/1912 in Obernberg am Inn.
Anton Reidinger was a sociable and kind world priest, dialect poet and very technical as well as socially minded. He is an honorary citizen of Obernberg am Inn and honorary canon. After decades of research it is now clear: "Es wird scho glei dumpa" is poetry written by him and thus his most widely known "heirloom". He has changed and added the melody from the hymn "Maria dich lieben" to his text.
A touching coincidence is that he, the "Singer of Christmas", creator of many Christmas poems, died at the beginning of the Chistmas Mass in Obernberg am Inn.
Today you can still visit his grave there.
