Hermann Simon (* January 26, 1896 in Berlin; † November 14, 1948 in Waldshut-Tiengen) was a German composer. As a composer, Simon had a special stylistic and harmonic character of his own, unencumbered by tradition or fashion. He excelled with oratorios in cantata form, choruses of all genres, vocal chamber music, and song creations. His speciality was the omission of the movement and the unusual coupling of instruments at that time, e.g. flute and cello, voice and horn, etc.
