Seeger, Carl (Anton Heinrich) (* Rimbach 23 Nov. 1820, † Alzey 7 June 1888) was a German pedagogue, composer and organist. The son of Johann Jakob S., a teacher and estate administrator, Seeger received primarily private instruction and was a pupil of Johann Christian Heinrich Rinck (1770-1846). In 1848, he became a teacher at the Offenbach city school as well as a music and singing teacher at the Realschule there. He was also organist at the French Reformed Church. In December 1857, he received his doctorate from Giessen University, but remained active in Offenbach until 1874. Seeger then obtained the position of district school inspector of the Groß-Gerau district school commission (1874-75), moved to Alzey in the same capacity (1875-77), and retired in January 1886.
Seeger wrote extensive organ literature, as well as choral compositions for schools and church purposes.
