Adolf Busch, born 8 April 1932, died 30 November 2023
The singing master tailor from Boppard, as he was often called.
He loved Boppard, his hometown, more than anything else and remained loyal to it throughout his life. Singing was his passion. His songs, in particular his song "Du mein Boppard..." (You, my Boppard...), were and are a tribute to Boppard, the Rhine and wine. He was a Boppard native and lived on the Balz, making him a Bälzer through and through. For decades, he belonged to the Bälzer neighbourhood, the Bälzer Sangesgilde, of which he was chairman for many years, and last but not least, the Bälzer Knorrköpp, which he led as session president for 22 years (2x11). One of his successors as chairman and session president was Karlheinz Scherer, who transcribed some of his songs into sheet music to preserve them for posterity. Adolf Busch was laid to rest on 9 December 2023 in the columbarium of the
Carmelite Church in Boppard.
