Irina Savankova was born in Russia in 1971. In 1990 she finished her studies at the music conservatory in Lida. In 1994 she completed her studies at the University for Culture in Orjol (Russia). Since 1994 she has been active as an accordion teacher in Lida in White Russia. Her students have won prizes at the traditional Gorsky competition; one student won playing one of Savankova's compositions.
