Michael Krischak was born in 1974 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He is self-taught as a composer and began composing at the age of 15. He has not formally studied music or music theory. He studied hotel management and works in public service. He now lives in Cologne, Germany. He composes organ music, chamber music (including 14 sonatas for solo recorder), piano compositions (including Preludes and Fugues in church modes), and a Griechische Elegie (Greek Elegy) for alto recorder, two violins and piano.
