Thomas Markus, born 1961 in Berlin has been a church musician in Berlin-Borsigwalde since 1995. He acquired the qualification for this activity in the years 1979 to 1981 at the church music school in Halle /Saale.
Choral work is the main field of activity of T.M. both as conductor and singer. Work and hobby merge here.
From his earliest youth, he has sung in large and small choirs and encounters the inexhaustible wealth of sacred choral music from the past and present. Here are the models for the text-bound compositions.
The practical handling of church choirs is the guideline for the degree of difficulty of song settings and motets. Most of the music is written for choirs that Markus directs. The musical motifs are provided by chorales from the Protestant hymn book.
