Gunter Thiel (1952- ) has lived since 1961 in Schierke, Germany. In 1969 he apprenticed in Markneukirchen as a guitarmaker and in 1973 passed his professional musicians' test in Zwickau. He worked as a musician with short interruptions (e.g. as a soldier) from 1973 to 1995. He played with the "Alexanders" in Berlin; played for eight years in the Baltic sea resort of Binz with the "Heinz Müller Band"; and performed before the fall of the Berlin Wall with a Leipzig band as a resort orchestra in Bad Bevenson.
Since 1995 he has worked as a music teacher in the Yamaha Music School in Wernigerode, teaching piano and electronic keyboard. He plays organ in church services and organizes events, mainly of an entertaining nature. He has been composing for the last ten years and is self-taught in this area. Most of his compositions are created as gifts for birthdays and other celebrations.
