These fifteen exercises constitute a progressive course in two-part singing following the two-part exercises in intonation. What I said there about the usefulness, and indeed necessity, of two-part singing at an early stage applies here with even greater force. Moreover, these exercises will serve as an introduction to the style of the greatest epoch of choral singing.
