Listening Lab – Materialien zur Musikvermittlung

Listening Lab is an ongoing series that brings clarity to demanding and complex 20th century masterpieces in the orchestral repertoire. It will assist teachers of "A Level" and Tertiary Level music to explain these pieces to their pupils, help concert presenters with their programme notes or with pre-concert talks and bring enlightenment to amateur and would-be musicologists in their understanding of these challenging pieces. So far the series includes Berg’s "Violin Concerto", Ligeti’s "Atmosphères", Berio’s "Rendering", Boulez’ "Notations", Bartók’s "Music for Strings and Percussion", Schönberg’s "Variations", Messiaen’s "Oiseaux Exotiques" and Pärt’s “Tabula rasa”.
