Regner, Hermann: Kontra-Spass

12 easy pieces for double bass and piano

More and more children and young people are taking up the double bass, the largest member of the string family. Double bass players are always in demand and welcome in any orchestra. There are musically rewarding parts for the instrument in chamber music, too - but not many solo opportunities. Hermann Regner composed these twelve easy pieces for double bass and piano as an addition to the solo repertoire for aspiring young bass players. These pieces are intended to provide cheerful, interesting and enjoyable music for tuition purposes or for concert and competition performances. Teachers will find a careful technical progression through the book, while the young bass player is encouraged to explore the musical potential in these miniatures as they offer an introduction to the sounds and rhythms of contemporary music. Have fun playing bass!
