Widmann, Jörg: Labyrinth V
Jörg Widmann's Labyrinth V focuses on the relationship between body, voice and emotion. It features playing techniques that integrate the human body as a medium of sonic articulation and consciously aim to strip away culturally coded forms of expression. The aim is to create a sound practice that is based on pre-linguistic primal sounds and refers to early stages of human existence. The aesthetic tension of the work results from the interplay of an archaic sound material with a labyrinthine structure. Labyrinth V invites both the performer and the audience to explore preconscious forms of communication.
