Ryan Thomas Johnson is a Los Angeles-based composer and musician. Cutting his teeth as a rock keyboardist, he has toured in four countries, made numerous recordings, and performed in countless clubs. He started his own band, the weirdo prog-punk outfit Überband in 2001.

Recent efforts have been aimed toward writing new classical music. In July of 2016, his piece Wessobrunner Gebet will be performed by the Orpheus Chor Munchen in Munich's Court Church. He is heavily involved in live theater and events. He acted as music director for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's HitRECord Fall Formal at the Orpheum Theater and for Forbidden Zone at Sacred Fools Theater. His association with Sacred Fools has seen him composing original music for their productions of Neverwhere, Watson, and Stoneface for which he won an Ovation award. Stoneface was remounted in 2014 at the Pasadena Playhouse where Mr. Johnson played his score live onstage. He is currently composing an original stage musical, polishing off an Überband recording, and writing chamber works.
