Diese Sammlung enthält alle Lieder Benjamin Brittens, die ursprünglich für Gesang und Klavier komponiert wurden und bei Boosey & Hawkes erschienen sind. Sie existiert in zwei inhaltsgleichen Ausgaben für hohe Stimme bzw. für mittlere/tiefe Stimme mit Klavierbegleitung. Wenn nötig wurden dazu Transkriptionen erstellt, die hier zum ersten Mal veröffentlicht sind. Neben den jeweils 60 Liedern bietet die Sammlung auch ausführliche Anmerkungen zu Geschichte jedes einzelnen Stückes.
