Alcalay, Luna: Touches II

In her late works, Luna Alcalay composed in an unmistakable, personal style, characterised by strict construction and a deeply intellectual way of thinking. Also in these later compositions – such as Touches II – the traces of serial music, her great stylistic turning point in the 1960s under the influence of the Darmstadt School, are clearly perceptible. Characteristic are the rapidly changing, differentiated and punctual dynamic gradations, articulations, tonal spaces and playing styles.
