Rainer Pecher : Der römische Brunnen
A fountain in Rome: in spite of the water being in constant motion the sight creates a sense of tranquility. Conrad Ferdinand Meyer described this paradox in a poem, where the first version (1866) had as many as 16 lines while the second version (1870) was condensed to eight lines.
