Wolfgang Hochstrate studied theology and minored in organ. Since 1978 he has been the pastor of the Landeskirche of Thuringia, and in village churches he often plays the organ himself and directs various choirs. His hobby is Capella music notation, for example printing music in such a way that the organist can sing along with all verses without problems.
