Hartmut Hecker is a professional mathematician. He has been composing songs and piano music since 1994. In the last years before he retired he directed the Institute for Biometry at the Hanover Medical School. He has always seen his professional activities as a support for his ability to make music freely.
Most compositions are comparable to the Romantic or Late Romantic style, with unique elements corresponding to today's auditory habits.
