Ithamar Conkey was an American church musician and composer of Scottish heritage. He was born and grew up in Shutesbury, Massachusetts. His first position was as organist at the Central Baptist Church in Norwich, Connecticut. In 1850 he moved to New York City and sang as bass soloist in the Calvary Episcopal Church and Grace Church. In 1861 he changed to the Madison Avenue Baptist Church, where he also worked as choral director and organist. He held this position until his death.
