Jan-Jürgen Wasmuth was born in 1938. Music has determined the course of his life and continues to define it now in retirement. His purpose in life has been to awaken the joy of singing and music-making in people.
He studied church music in Herford, Germany (Prof. Ehmann) and Heidelberg, Germany (Prof. Haag) and then worked as district cantor in Schwetzingen (Baden, Germany), as county cantor in Bramsche (Lower Saxony) and then for more than ten years as provincial cantor of the Lower Saxon Church Choir Association in the churches of Braunschweig, Hannover, Oldenburg and Schaumburg-Lippe as well as in the Protestant Church of Bremen.
His most important retirement tasks include seminars in Estonia and St. Petersburg, courses in editing in the Landeskirche of Hannovers and the direction of the "Kammerchor Vox Humana."
