Enrique Blanco Rodríguez was born in Madrid in 1963.

He studied guitar, counterpoint and harmony at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid.

He is a self-taught composer but has had some instruction from Luis de Pablo y Daniel Vega.

Has also composed electroacoustic music and has done some research in this field.

Received composition prizes, including an SGAE (Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers) award in 1991 and 1993 as well as the 1998 “Virgen de la Almudena” award for symphonic compositions.

His works have been performed by numerous ensembles such as the Koan ensemble, LIM ensemble, Círculo ensemble, the Madrid Flute Orchestra, the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, the Grupo Español de Saxofones, the De-sax-tre ensemble and a number of soloists.

He has also composed educational music and created multimedia education material, some of which can be found on his website.

Enrique Blanco Rodríguez is an experienced lecturer on the subject of contemporary classical music and has taught classes on modern counterpoint at Madrid Conservatory since 1997.

In 1999/2000 he received an Innovative Education Award from the Community of Madrid for his project "Interactive composition technique tutor".
