Born in Dessau (Anhalt) in 1964. Started by learning to play the (inevitable) recorder, then continued on the oboe.
A few years later, he added classical guitar and tuba. While he did consider studying music he ended up becoming a conservator-restorer but has always kept up his interest in music. He has composed music primarily for solo guitar but also for brass instruments, strings, choir and other small ensembles. Performing as a guitarist (playing his own works among other things) and as a tuba player in a brass ensemble.
