Born 1986 in Baden, Austria.
2006: Matura (school-leaving exam) at Höhere technische Bundes- Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Wiener Neustadt (information technology branch) with distinction.
2006 – 2007: Civil service at Red Cross Baden
2007 – 2009: Audio engineering study course at SAE Vienna
2009: Started studying composition at Joseph Haydn Conservatoire in Eisenstadt with Prof. Tibor Nemeth, ArtD.
Took his first degree in composition in June 2012 and entered second leg of study course in autumn 2012 (also in Eisenstadt).
2012 – 2013: Undergraduate studies in composition at the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava with Prof. Vladimir Bokes, completed with a bachelor’s degree with distinction.
Various performances at Joseph Haydn Conservatoire (e.g. “Homage to Joseph Haydn” for orchestra, performed 2011 at a ceremony on the occasion of the conservatory’s 40th anniversary).
Composed, premiered and conducted music for mixed ensembles at the annual “Praktikum Musik der Gegenwart“ (Contemporary Music Lab) events. Works include “Spätherbst in Venedig“ (Late Autumn in Venice), “Nachtgesang des Kammervirtuosen“ (Virtuoso’s Nocturne), 2013, and “Veränderungen“ (Changes), 2014.
Composed a “Sonatina” for “Concerto Primo“, a book of music containing educational concert pieces for trumpet and piano meant for music school students and for competitions such as “Prima La Musica”.
Participated as a composer in Erasmus projects (Haydn The Progressive in Eisenstadt; Opus Erasmus in France) and at the EU Art Network Arts Symposium at Cselley-Mühle (Oslip, 2012).
Performances of Bauer’s “Wagnermorphose” in Germany (Bayreuth, Leipzig), Switzerland (St. Urban) and Italy (Venice, La Fenice). On 21 May 2013 the piece is broadcast on Austrian public radio (Ö1) in a program called „Zeit-Ton“.
Bauer’s works “Clockwork Quartet” (string quartet) and “Na Vylete” (adaptation of a piano piece by Alexander Albrecht for orchestra) performed at the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava in the summer/autumn of 2013.
Winner of the 2013 Theodor Kery Förderungspreis (sponsorship award). Bauer’s “Zwei Klavierstücke” (Two Piano Pieces) are performed at the awards ceremony.
Many years‘ experience as a private tutor for compositional technique, musical form and aural training.
Has been a lecturer on acoustics at the Joseph Haydn Conservatoire since 2012.
