The Spanish guitarist and composer Julián Arcas was born on 25/10/1832 in the province of Almeria and died on 18/02/1882 in Antequera. Spanish folk dances and Flamenco affected his guitar playing and his compositions.
The large innovator of guitar technique, Francisco Tarrega was his pupil. He has also influenced Antonio Torres (important guitar maker, who essentially specified the construction and the dimensions of today's guitar), with whom he befriended the building of guitars.
Julián Arcas created approximately fifty compositions and revision for the guitar.
