Grobe, Karl Julius Hermann 07/20/1807 - 07/09/1877

Music director, cantor and composer.
After training in Wuerzburg, Germany in 1826 he came to Nuremberg, Germany where he initially gave music lessons and was cantor at St. Jakob. In 1858 he became successor of Kapellmeister Blumenroeder and took over the office of the city and church music director. He founded a new singing group under the name "Nuermbergischer Liederkranz" that he quickly led to great successes. Also at Nuremberg city theater he worked as a conductor.
