Music critic, teacher and composer from Pomerania, Germany. He began his education in Bonn, Germany and continued studying under Friedrich Kiel in Berlin, Germany where he remained a musician until the end of his life. He taught as a professor at the Stern Conservatory of Berlin and became a member of the Academy of Arts in1905.
