(Sor) Gracia Baptista was born around 1530 in or near Avila, Spain and spent the majority of her life in a local monastery. Further information about her personal life is not available. Her only composition „Conditor Alme“ appeared during 1557 in an anthology titled ''Libro de cifra nueva para tecla, harpa, y vihuela'' by Luis Venegas de Henestrosa.
