Charles Kassel Harris (1 May 1867 - 22 December 1930) was a well-respected American songwriter of popular music. During his long career he continued the relatively new genre and published more than 300 songs. He was often viewed by admirers as the "King of Tearjerkers". He is one of the early pioneers of Tin Pan Alley.
