He studied at the municipal Conservatory of Barcelona with Juan Bautista Pujol. After he made his debut at fourteen (1886), he expanded his studies at the Paris Conservatoire where he won first prize in piano in 1903. He performed in Spain, France and Portugal with remarkable success.
As a composer he wrote impressions from Spain, a suite for large orchestras, a Spanish serenata, a trio for piano, violin and cello, and several works with piano: for dances, serenades, babillage[rap] and vals caprice[capriccio waltz].
