Born in Leipzig, Germany, Fielitz studied music under Julius Schulhoff and Edmund Kretschmar in Dresden, Germany, and pursued a career path as a theater music director in Zürich, Switzerland, Leipzig and Lübeck, Germany. At the age of 28 he had to give up his artistic career as a result of a nervous condition. He recovered from his suffering in the mild Italian climate. After a short stay in Berlin he travelled to America as a music teacher. Fielitz performed there as a concert conductor for two and one-half years. Commencing in 1908, he taught once again at the ''Stern'schen Konservatorium'' (Stern Conservatory) in Berlin which he directed as of 1915. He died in Bad Salzungen (Thuringia), Germany.
