Alfred Cottin (* December 21, 1863 in Paris, France; † January 18, 1923 ebenda) was a French guitarist and composer.
Together with his brother Jules (1868-1922), Cottin studied guitar under the direction of Jacques Bosch in Paris.
Occasionally he directed a mandolin ensemble in Paris. Cottin played a ''Torres'' guitar.
When Francisco Tárrega performed in Paris, Cottin was responsible for the organization. Tárrega dedicated his work ''Recuerdos de la Alhambra'' to him.
Cottin wrote a series of easy pieces for solo guitar which being self-published appeared in four albums each consisting of between five and twelve pieces.
Additionally, there were several duos and at least one trio for three guitars. Furthermore, he wrote numerous pieces for mandolin often as a duo or trio with guitar and piano.
