Holger Kirleis *1957
Lives and works as a pianist, music performer and composer with various ensembles and projects in Hannover.
1978 to 1985 studies at the ''Staatliche Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover'' and the ''Städtische Akademie für Tonkunst'' in Darmstadt (school music and instrumental pedagogy). He studied piano with Konrad Meister and Friederike Richter. Afterwards seminars, workshops and further education, among others at Jazz- und Rock-School Berlin, Alexander v. Schlippenbach, Johannes Fritsch and Helmut Lachenmann. Lastly "KOMPÄD-Weiterbildung" for composers.
Holger Kirleis' musical concepts as well as his musical practice stand for a genre-spanning concept of music and culture. Sound worlds of new music play just as much a role as contemporary jazz, working with choirs and singers, ironically musical, interactive approaches, electronics and acoustic everyday life.
