(*Around 1520 in Bourges; † 1561 in Lyon)
Clémentine de Bourges was born around 1520 in Bourges, France, and lived as a well-known composer and poet in Lyon. She died on 9/30/1561, allegedly out of grief at the loss of her husband, who lost his life in the fight against the invading Hugenots.
Most of her work was lost during the battles in and around Lyon. Only the four part chorus "Da bei rami" is preserved as organ tablature in the collection "Ein Schön Nutz und Gebreüchlich Orgel Tabulaturbüch" by Jakob Paix (1583).
