Todd Jefferis is a composer, performer and music educator with a wide range of experiences in music. He most recently taught in the School District of Hillsborough County (Florida) as a Strings Specialist, working with over 600 children ages 5 to 12 weekly. A jazz and classically trained bassist, he remains active as a performer in a variety of musical contexts. He has studied orchestral double bass with Richard Cioffari and jazz bass with Jeffrey Halsey. He holds a B.M. and M.M. in composition/theory from Bowling Green State University (Ohio), and a D.M.A. in composition from West Virginia University. His principal composition teachers include Marilyn Shrude, John Beall, and Burton Beerman; and he has attended master classes with George Crumb and Leslie Bassett. He has received several composition awards.
